Tent Preparation

• Tree - Don't set up underneath, branches could possibly snap, sap could fall on tent +bird droppings (set tent 20m away from tree)
• Rocks - Make sure they are not under the tent (clear ground) 
• Tent - Set tent up correctly, be aware of surroundings (fire, other tents etc) 
• Water - Tent needs to be 50m away from water 
• Gully - Don't set up tent close to gully, chances of flooding 
• Fire - 20m from tents, controlled, watch for wind 
• Sun - Tent faces where it sets and rises 
• Wind - If possible wind hits side of tent 
• River - 50m from tents 
• Slope - If cannot sleep on flat surface, head at top of the slop.
